You took the robin,
You put the stone in its throat.
Now every note it sings rattles, rattles.
You took the orchid,
You wrapped its petals in the frost.
Now when it shakes it off, it rattles, it rattles.
(Could you shake it off like it was nothing?)
Red in the front teeth:
You tried to terrify the sun,
Stare down the rays of light 'til it was gone.
It took every power
You know I claim to possess
Just to convince myself it's harmless, it's harmless.
I'm considering things that I wouldn't have
When I was young.
I'm considering things I know shouldn't be done.
I'm attracted to the dark:
What moves and what sparks?
I'm considering things that I wouldn't have
When I had a heart.
I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop
I despise pinenuts but got damn who doesn't love these tracks? You'd have to be brain dead. Annoying shit rat kids stop going to their shows and talking over the openers. You're all losers. Love pg thanks for all the memories you guys patchworkbuffalo
A brave experimental record from the Cecilia Lopez & Ingrid Laubrock running darting sax lines through dense electronics & processing. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 10, 2023
