Blinking light, you’ve come too soon,
Caught me blowing smoke up at the moon.
Give me til the end of June,
I’m not ready to be reminded.
Blinking light in the black hills:
If this doesn’t change me, nothing will.
But give me til the end of June.
I’ll be better with the weather.
I’ll be better whether or not I mean to.
Messages are left unread.
I watch the glowing light at its dying breath.
I cannot take back what I’ve said
So I’m taking my words with me,
Buried deep within the walls of my body.
I know what you’re thinking:
I’m circling the drain.
But my wings won’t be pinned down
To the board of this day.
I burn for tomorrow,
And I’ll give it all I’ve got,
I’ll be better for ya.
At least I’m giving it a shot.

I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop
A brave experimental record from the Cecilia Lopez & Ingrid Laubrock running darting sax lines through dense electronics & processing. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 10, 2023

You know, it wasn't my favorite for a while, but for some reason i decided to listen to it on loop a few weeks ago and now I can't stop thinking about it.
I love the synths, the tone, the lyricism, even the music videos which I feel I should mention!!!
(also, should've been me reminds me a bit of abba which is an automatic bonus in my book) praisedrays
